Experience
My first experience as a tutor was back when I was attending Middlebury College in Vermont and gave individual lessons to my peers, as well as local high school and middle school students. Those were the times that made me realize I have a deep passion for assisting others in understanding Math at a higher level. Middlebury is where I earned my bachelor's degree in Math before moving on to get a master's in the same field at the University of Phoenix. While there, my focuses were in instruction and curriculum. Currently I work as both a teacher and tutor at a local community college, where I help student at many levels, from Algebra to Calculus to Statistics. I have established my own curriculum for many Math courses, as well as one focused on improving study skills. I have worked with students with many different learning styles and am confident in adapting my teaching strategies for any student that I come across. Math is a subject that can make many people anxious, and I have had great success easing those worries in students. On my personal time, I enjoy staying active by running and practicing yoga. I also love to knit and quilt.
